to the mountains

Matt 18. Observation) v12 "What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?"

Interpretation) This is Jesus speaking in context about little children then leading into the subject of lost people in general and gaining them back. He said "the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost." (v11). And also "It is not the will of your Father Who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." Which brings to mind other verses like "God...desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:4), "God is...not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (2 Pet. 3:9). God's heart is to go into the mountains and rescue people. He came from heaven to the Hill of a Skull and the cold grave for our lost souls.

Application) God give me Your shepherd's heart. Let me go into the mountains to seek the save the lost people there. Let me go wherever, drive long distances, take the time to wait, to pray for all men, to sit and talk with them speaking the truth in love. Let my life be used by Your Spirit to turn others to righteousness. Today I plan to go to the mountains, to the village to reach the kids up there and the ones who cannot come to church, and those who don't understand yet how important fellowship with Your people is. I plan to help the young believers there develop and lead a new children's ministry to teach them the truth and nourish the lambs in the Word. I have a meeting with a director of a Bible college in Albania to pray and plan how we can work together to bring the whole counsel of God to all the Albanian people in these two countries. And I have prayer and time with a team from the Bible college in Vajta helping them to reach out to the thousands of mostly muslim high schoolers that come daily into our town for school and to hang out. Lord, find them today through us. Thank You Jesus.
